The Experience — From the waterfalls to the street parties and jungles, there’s always a festival in Brazil
The journey begins in Rio de Janeiro, a city that dazzles with lush jungles, powder-soft white sands and a vivacious nightlife that never seems to tire. Embark on a guided drive along the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon — an area commonly renowned as ‘The Heart of Rio de Janeiro’ — and ascend to the summit of Corcovado Hill, gateway to the iconic statue of Christ the Redeemer, offering 360° vistas over the city.
An impressive sight for the eyes, Sugarloaf Mountain is an iconic symbol of the ‘Marvelous City’, rising up from the small peninsula of Guanabara Bay. Experience the iconic beauty via glass cable cars, firstly savouring the exquisite views from Urca Hill, and continuing upwards to the peaks of Sugarloaf for panoramic vistas over the entire city, including Botafogo and Copacabana Beaches, Corcovado Mountain and downtown Rio.
Embrace the samba beats and rhythmic pounding of steel bass drums that drive the spirit of Rio Carnival, one of the world’s greatest carnivals. Gain fascinating insight into the artistry and inspiration that goes into creating the 6,000 costumes, feathers and impressive floats for this incredible festival, and learn to sway your hips at Grande Rio Samba School.
Discover the jaw-dropping natural grandeur of the cascading Iguazu Falls, a chain of hundreds of waterfalls nearly 3km long, across the Brazilian and the Argentinean side. Over two days, you will drink in views over more than 275 falls, take a train to the impressive Devil’s Throat Station, trek to the highest point, and embark on a heart-stopping adventure into the Sendero Yacartia. Take a motorboat through rapids along the glistening Iguazu River, glide underneath the curtain of water, weave through the San Martin Islands, appreciate the Three Musketeers Waterfall, and follow the shore to San Martin Waterfall to experience the thrill of the water immediately above you.
Unravel the colonial history of Salvador da Bahia, once the capital of Portugal’s New World colony, with a tour of the historic old city. Visit Bahia’s oldest fort, famous for the lighthouse hidden within its walls, wander through the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Pelourinho — a district famous for its narrow, winding streets and old pastel-coloured buildings — and end at the Largo do Pelourinho, the heart of the colonial district, where Salvador’s past meets its present.
The Food — Taste your way through rich culinary roots, influenced by Africa, Asia, Indigenous culture and the Mediterranean
With daily breakfast and an exceptional selection of exciting dining experiences throughout the tour, you will truly experience the excellence of this unique and world-famous cuisine.
In Rio de Janeiro, indulge at the award-winning Assador, one of the city’s most iconic Brazillian barbeque restaurants, rated among Rio de Janeiro’s top 15 steakhouses on TripAdvisor. This acclaimed restaurant is renowned for its meat-on-a-spit-style of cooking, imbuing Brazil's 300 years of barbeque ritual and ancestral knowledge into their restaurant and offering pristine views of Sugarloaf Mountain.
Embrace the intoxicating atmosphere you'd typically experience at Carnaval do Rio de Janeiro with Brazil’s most famous cocktail, the caipirinha, made with cachaça, sugar, and lime.
Experience Salvador da Bahia’s rich and diverse culinary roots as you are guided through a bustling food market with a private, local chef to gather fresh ingredients for Salvador’s signature dish, the Moqueca. This iconic delicacy is a seafood stew traditionally made with shrimp or white fish and mixed with garlic, parsley, pepper, onion, tomato paste, coconut milk and a secret ingredient, prepared in an earthenware wok-like dish and brought directly to the table from the stove. Your cooking class ends with a traditional Salvadorian dessert.
The Accommodation — Experience iconic luxury staying in some of Brazil’s finest hotels, including the renowned Belmond brand
Unwind in true luxury in Rio de Janeiro, staying at the glamorous Belmond Copacabana Palace, ranked the number one hotel in Rio on TripAdvisor.
